Sundae’s puppies have had such an exciting week! They’ve graduated into their extended play area! This new environment gives them more room to stretch their legs, explore, and start discovering the big world around them in safe and positive ways.
We’ve introduced a variety of new experiences, including a soft tunnel, mirrors, and different textures to walk across. Each of these elements helps puppies build resilience and confidence:
Soft Tunnel: Crawling through the tunnel encourages curiosity and problem-solving, while also teaching them that new spaces aren’t scary.
Mirrors: Puppies don’t yet understand reflections, but mirrors spark intrigue and playful reactions. This early exposure helps them adapt to unusual sights without fear.
Textures Underfoot: Walking on different surfaces—smooth, bumpy, soft, or crinkly—teaches them to handle a variety of environments, making them less likely to be startled by new surfaces when they head to their forever homes.
All of these little adventures are part of creating well-rounded, resilient puppies who will grow into confident companions. Puppies who explore, climb, and play in varied environments tend to become less fearful and more adaptable later in life.
We’ve also begun the very first steps of crate training and toilet training. These early introductions help puppies settle more easily into family life, building positive associations with routines they’ll use for the rest of their lives.
It’s such a joy to watch them play, learn, and grow each day—and we can’t wait for their future families to meet the brave, curious little dogs they’re becoming!
