Why we’ve fallen in love with 5 Hounds by Dr Will

If you’ve been following along recently, you’ve probably noticed just how excited our dogs have been at mealtimes… and honestly, we don’t blame them!
We recently made the switch to 5 Hounds by Dr. Will, and it’s safe to say it has been a complete game changer in our house. The video really says it all—there’s something so satisfying about watching every single bowl get licked clean and seeing that genuine excitement from all of them.
What we love about 5 Hounds is that it’s a lightly cooked food. It’s not heavily processed like traditional kibble, but it’s also not raw. It sits somewhere in between, which means the ingredients are gently cooked in a way that keeps a lot of the natural nutrients intact, while still being safe and easy to feed. You can actually recognise what’s in it, and that’s something that really matters to us.
Since making the switch, one of the first things we noticed was their coats. They’ve become incredibly soft and shiny, and just look so healthy. It’s one of those changes that sneaks up on you—you suddenly realise just how much of a difference good nutrition can make. And it makes sense when you think about it. What we feed our dogs impacts everything, from their skin and coat through to their digestion, energy levels, and overall wellbeing.
Another thing we’ve loved is just how much they enjoy it. There’s no hesitation, no fussiness, just happy dogs who genuinely look forward to their meals. That, in itself, is such a reassuring feeling.
As breeders, we’re always thinking about the bigger picture. The health and wellbeing of our dogs is at the heart of everything we do, and what we feed them plays a huge role in that. Healthy, well-nourished dogs don’t just feel better, they go on to raise thriving, healthy puppies, and that’s incredibly important to us.
We’re always careful about what we recommend, but this is something we’ve genuinely been so impressed with. Of course, every dog is different, and any diet change should be done gradually, but for us, this has been
such a positive experience.
We hope you enjoy the video - it really is a little snapshot of just how much they love it 🐾💛
